THE TASK
For this assignment my goal was to create my own concept monster movie to create some very visual marketing and promotional pieces for. Additionally, one of goals was to get more familiar with an emerging technology in the graphic design industry. I decided that I was going to experiment with photo generative AI softwares to create some of the imagery for this marketing campaign.
Custom Font
For the primary typeface for this project, I decided that I would modify a font that I had previously created. This font was specifically design for a monster movie and I felt worked perfectly for this project.
process
One of the first things that I did when starting this process is to come up with a synopsis for this concept movie to better understand how the art direction would need to look and feel.
I came up with the following: When a failed deep-sea experiment unleashes a glowing amphibious monster, the world is unprepared for what comes next. Phibiax emerges from the ocean, growing larger and more powerful with every hour on land. As cities crumble beneath its weight, a disgraced scientist races to uncover the truth behind its creation—before it becomes unstoppable.
I then created a mood board to represent visually how I wanted the promotional pieces to feel (at that point the name was Axphibis). I used Chat GPT to create the images of the monster.
Style Guide
After receiving effective feedback, I then created a detailed style guide that would guide me through all of the marketing and promotional pieces I hoped to create.
Final Campaign
Using a combination of softwares such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Chat GPT to create images of the monster, I then created several final unique pieces that would help promote my theoretical up-coming movie.
